Childcare Expansion Capital Grant
Following the 2023 Spring Budget, the DfE announced that capital funding is being made available to Local Authorities and providers to support the growth and improve facilities within childcare settings. The availability of funding aligns and coincides with the governments reform to promote the return of parents to employment.
The introduction of 15 and 30 hours of free childcare to qualifying working families, will create increased demand on providers for admissions and space, which is currently absent.
Completing your Childcare Expansion Application
To secure funding, eligible establishments will firstly need to issue an ‘Expression of Interest’ to their Local Authority. An application form will follow, once the EOI is approved, with further details provided to submit a compliant bid. Local Authorities will be allocated a proportion of the available capital grant by the DfE, this will then be distributed accordingly amongst providers.
